Gigga is a campus marketplace. We collect only the information we need to operate accounts, verify students, run tasks and marketplace features, prevent fraud and support users.

What we collect

Depending on how you use Gigga, this can include your name, email, phone or WhatsApp number, matric number, university, faculty, department, level, skills, profile information, task applications, submissions, messages, reviews, business or product information, transaction references and technical security information.

What stays private

Your matric number and private contact details are not intended to be public profile information. For Gigga task accountability, selected participants may receive the contact or identity information needed to complete the assignment. We do not sell your personal data.

Why we use it

We use information to create and secure accounts, verify eligibility, operate Giggas and orders, connect selected participants, process or verify payments through payment providers, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, provide support and improve the service.

Who processes data for us

Gigga uses service providers for authentication, database and file storage, hosting and payments. Those providers process information required to provide their services. Payment details handled directly by a payment provider are subject to that provider’s own privacy practices.

Cookies and local storage

Gigga may use strictly necessary browser storage for authentication, security and core product functionality. We will not intentionally enable optional advertising or analytics cookies without the appropriate notice or consent. If optional tracking is introduced, users will be given a clear choice where consent is required.

Retention and your choices

We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, legal obligations, fraud prevention and dispute records. You may ask us to correct or delete eligible personal information, subject to records we must retain for security, disputes or legal obligations.

Security

We use access controls and trusted infrastructure providers, but no internet service can promise absolute security. Do not share passwords, authentication codes or sensitive financial credentials with other Gigga users.

This notice describes the current beta product and may be updated as Gigga adds features or payment infrastructure.
